I got the impression that WireCast (Windows & Mac) was the most popular choice, notably including that made by an expert reviewing site. I understand (haven’t tested) that the current Windows version (Mac to come later) can “broadcast” to a virtual camera e.g. acceptable to Skype. Also it works the other way round, so e.g. Skype interviews can be included in a broadcast program.Web-research:

- If you have Desktop Presenter on your workstation with Keynote or PowerPoint, your presentation can be brought up on a separate computer running Wirecast. Whats nice is you can have several Desktop Presenters going within your Wirecast application. - Regarding WireCast:
- Granted the Wirecast software costs $450, it’s well worth it. Especially if you are doing a talking head with PowerPoint / Keynote integration.
- With its Desktop Presenter utility you can install that on any computer on the same LAN and Wirecast will see it as a camera.
- The presenter can be running PowerPoint on their computer and you can install Desktop Presenter and point it to the entire desktop or just PowerPoint and it will send that to Wirecast.
- With Wirecast, Desktop Presenter feeds Wirecast via LAN. In other words as long as they are wirelessly connected to the same network, Wirecast sees the IP address of the presenting computer. If on Windows, installing Apple Bonjour for Windows helps otherwise you can enter IP address manually.
